I would like to take this opportunity to express how grateful I am to the Linda Dunn Foundation for selecting me as a recipient of this years’ scholarship. I strive daily to learn and understand as much as I can about the hygiene field in order to provide the best care to my patients. Being recognized and awarded for what is becoming my passion is more than I could ever ask for.

I am currently a freshman in my second semester at Florida Southwestern State College in the dental hygiene program. My career in teeth started as a dental assistant 7 years ago and I have only grown a stronger compassion for wanting to help people with their oral health. I have continued working part time assisting while attending school full time, it is a struggle but manageable. Receiving this scholarship is not only a tremendous help to me but allows my commitment to my studies to strengthen because of this financial blessing.

Someday I hope to achieve the same level of compassion, empathy, and understanding relationships with my patients as Linda Dunn did with hers. Reading about her inspires me to continue striving for excellence and to become the best dental hygienist I can be for myself and my patients.
