Dear Mr. Dunn,

It is an honor to be chosen as a recipient of the Linda Dunn scholarship. I am truly grateful for the scholarship support because it allowed me to work fewer hours and focus on being the version of myself at school. I am currently finishing my second semester in the hygiene program at Florida Southwestern State College and, I am very excited about what the future in the dental field as a hygienist will bring.
I can affirm that being a dental hygienist and being given the opportunity of helping and impact people’s lives is an extension of everything I learned in my childhood. I grew up in a family where dentistry was the main profession and more than a profession, I can say it is a lifestyle. Seeing my father’s joy when helping others and being able to bring a smile to their day, was all I needed to decide my career goals. I attended four years of dental school back in my birth country and after moving to the United States, I worked as a dental assistant for a general and a pediatric dental office for four years before being accepted into the hygiene program.
Learning more about Mrs. Linda Dunn and her compassion, kindness, and genuine interest in their patients motivates me to keep perfecting my clinical and communication skills to become an excellent hygienist. I am very grateful for the generous scholarship and know that with your help, I am a step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a dental hygienist.
