Dear Linda Dunn Foundation,

I am incredibly thankful to be chosen as a recipient of the Linda Dunn Foundation scholarship. It means a lot to me to receive support from an organization that recognizes the hard work and dedication of students pursuing a career in dental hygiene.

I am currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program at Florida SouthWestern State College. Throughout my education, I have become even more passionate about the profession and the difference I will be able to make in my patients’ lives. Working at a pediatric dental office has also been a big part of my journey. Being around patients, dental professionals, and the day-to-day environment of dentistry has given me experience that I know will continue to help me as I develop my skills as a future dental hygienist.

Pursuing higher education has been a new experience for my family and me. My parents did not attend college, so I have had to learn a lot along the way and become comfortable figuring things out for myself. Although it has not always been easy, I am proud that I continued to move forward and create an opportunity for myself. Being in a dental hygiene program today is something I am very proud of, especially knowing how much work it took to get here.

This scholarship will be especially helpful as I continue my program and prepare for the next stage of my education. The financial support will allow me to put more of my attention toward my classes, clinical requirements, and becoming the best dental hygienist I can be. Knowing that someone is willing to invest in my future is incredibly encouraging.

Thank you for supporting students like me and for helping make it possible for us to pursue a career in dental hygiene. I truly appreciate your generosity and the confidence you have placed in me. I hope that in the future, I can give back to my community and make a difference in the lives of my patients just as your foundation is making a difference in mine.
