Dear Dunn Family,

I would like to personally thank you for selecting me as the recipient of the Linda Dunn Foundation Scholarship. It’s clear that Linda held her patients close to her heart and valued giving them the highest level of care. Compassion for my patients and advocating for their care is of the upmost importance to me, and I am so honored to be chosen by the Linda Dunn Foundation where I can continue this path.

I am currently a 2nd semester Freshman student in the Dental Hygiene program at Florida SouthWestern State College and have fallen completely in love with the Dental field. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved going to the Dentist so that I could get the “Strawberry Stuff.” My dentist and hygienist were always so kind to me and encouraged me to take charge of my own oral health. These are such strong, core memories from my childhood that I will never forget and ultimately lead me down the path I am pursuing today.

It is my goal to provide the highest level of care and service to my patients, and hopefully impact their lives as much my Dentist and Hygienist were able to impact mine. It is because of healthcare providers who go above and beyond like this, and like Linda Dunn, that we can make a real impact on patients’ lives. Because of the generosity of the Linda Dunn Foundation, I can afford tuition and books to continue to pursue my dream. As a fulltime student, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
